Harvest Celebration

The Oaktree School held their Harvest Celebration on Friday 15th October.

The children at The Oaktree School came together with their parents for a Harvest celebration this morning. The school community were really excited as this annual event was unable to take place last year and this was the first time that some parents had the opportunity to see their children in a whole school event.

The Harvest celebration has always taken place outside, under one of the schools old Oaktrees, and is an opportunity for the children and the community to give thanks for the natural world. As part of this thanks non-perishable food donations were requested. These donations will be presented to Woking Food Bank.

The Harvest celebration included the children performing a number of songs as well as giving thanks through readings of children's writing from their English lessons. The event was followed up by a sponsored welly walk to raise funds for much needed outside resources, as well as 'Plant a Bulb' day where children plant bulbs as part of their continuous learning in Science across the year.
