Computing
Curriculum |
Intent |
At The Oaktree School we aim for the children to be competent, creative and confident when using Computing resources, so that they can use them to a good standard and use them responsibly. By the end of KS1, children are equipped with basic Computing skills that will continue to be built upon in KS2. |
Implementation |
At The Oaktree we follow the National Curriculum. In partnership with our Life Skills curriculum, children learn about the importance of online safety. Children learn to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation. Children have the opportunity to explore different attitude to Computing and its value to themselves as individuals and society. Children will develop keyboard skills and will use these in a range of situations and across a variety of subjects. Children will access lessons through our computer suite and through iPads within their classrooms to develop their digital literacy skills. They will access 'un-plugged lessons' to develop their understanding of Computer Science. |
