Outdoor Learning
At The Oaktree we recognise the many benefits for children to being in the open air, as well as how vital this is to their development in today's world. We support and actively encourage learning outside the classroom to increase opportunities for children to gain independence, confidence and to become more active. Being physical supports children's emotional, physical, social and mental wellbeing and at the same time can support their academic achievements.
At The Oaktree School, children are offered time outside the classroom within our Forest School area. In addition to the many benefits this brings, it also means we utilise the extensive grounds that The Oaktree School has to offer. The Oaktree School Curriculum also supports children to explore our outside areas to enhance the children's learning in a variety of different areas, including gardening, pond dipping and story telling.
