At The Oaktree School we analyse internal and external data rigorously in order to plan for further school improvement and ensure all children achieve the best results that they can.

We value highly the partnership we have with parents, and we are well supported by the Governing Body to ensure that the children can be the best they can be. 

Year 1 Phonic Screening Check 2022

Children working at the standard of the national curriculum assessments are assessed on a three point scale (greater depth, expected standard, working towards).

Children working within the Early Years Foundation Stage are assessed at meeting (expected) against the Early Learning Goal (ELG) in each Area of learning or emerging.

76% of pupils in Reception attained a Good Level of Development against the Early Years Foundation Stage. A Good Level of Development is defined as children working at the expected standard in the key areas of Literacy, Maths, Physical Development, Communication and Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Key Stage One

These arrangements reflect the more challenging national curriculum which was introduced in 2014. For more information please see the leaflet Information for parents KS1 from the Standards and Testing Agency.

At the end of KS1 (Yr2), teachers are required to assess each child in the areas of Reading, Writing, Maths and Science. National Curriculum assessment tests are used to support teachers’ judgements.

Expected Standard - Working at the expected standard for a child at the end of Year 2

Greater Depth - Working at greater depth within the expected standard, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
